Jane’s Review ~ Lifers by Jane Harvey-Berrick

Jordan Kane has just been released from serving 8 years in prison and the condition of his parole he has to return to his home town to stay with his parents until he is officially classed as a free man. He is hated by the locals in the town and even his own parents has shunned him, he is doing odd jobs for the preacher when he meets Torrey Delaney the preachers daughter who has moved in with her Mother because she walked out of her job.

Torrey is attracted to Jordan and becomes his friend and even when she finds out the truth about still does’t hate him and continues to be his only friend.

Wow what an emotional roller coaster of a read this has been, I kid you not at one point I thought that I might not finish this book because it seemed to take forever to get through and I did wonder where it was going and what was going to happen. There seems to be so much detail about both characters and their budding relationship but having finished it now I understand why the book was like this and I have not a single regret at all.

It has put me through so many emotions and had me in tears and even after finishing it I am still thinking about it. This is defiantly very clever writing on the authors part. I feel that somehow and some way this amazing story about love and forgiveness has crawled under my skin, I can’t explain when it happened but I have fell in love with the story and the characters.

I like Jordan and loved how he has grown and developed during this book I also felt so sorry for him and at some point I have fallen for this guy and love the character that he has become. I feel that it all has to to with the strength of Torrey’s character that has taken him out of the deep dark depression and self loathing he feels towards himself.
What a fantastic character Torrey is, a great role model for today’s modern women. She is strong and independent and doesn’t take no crap from anyone and she is so good for Jordan.

Another thing I loved about this is the hotness of it, the sex felt so realistic and slotted in so well with the situations.

Nikki’s Review ~ Desire (The Seductors Series #1) by B.L.Wilde

Hot damn, just finished Desire and it was so hot even my kindle needs cooling down.

Jade works as a top Seductor in a secret organisation, who are hired to retrieve the impossible and to do what ever is necessary to obtain the object or information required.  Jane is a single woman who takes her job very seriously and who keeps all her emotions under lock and key.  That is until she meets her next target Oliver Kirkham.

Oliver is a very handsome CEO of a Weapons manufacturing company.  He is funny, charming and the first man to ignite something in Jade. His most endearing quality (other than his amazing bed skills), is the fact that he doesn’t let his wealth define him.

The chemistry is instant between the two of them and is so hot that Jade receives her first BIG O. It doesn’t take long before the perfect book B/F is breaking down Jade’s walls.  This bowls Jade over and constantly makes her question herself.   Rule 1 no emotional attachment with the Target. Jade is so use to to always being in charge and normally has complete control of her emotions.  Although this time she does allow herself to create an emotional and physical connections with Oliver that she has always denied herself.

I hear you ask yourself  ‘whats the problem with this?’  The Seductors society is the problem, she has a job to do. If the job is not completed then Oliver is a dead man walking. Could Jade let this happen or can she be the one to break his heart that he has given her on a silver platter.

I have been left wanting so much more and I hope the Author doesn’t leave me waiting to long.  I have my own predictions as to how I think this story should end, but I’m not so sure if any of the Seductors will get their HEA.

Jane’s Review ~ Aftermath by Beth Mikell

When Jon Mercer left Hayley Cohen at the alter she was left devastated now a year later she has tried to put her life back together, then Jon reappears back into her life causing havoc. Hayley learns that the man she loved and was going to spend the rest of her life with has been lying to her from the very beginning of their relationship. Can Jon convince Hayley that he really does love her and get her to forgive him?

This is a really easy to read book and has a few twists in it that you won’t see coming. It also has a really interesting and original plot but I didn’t feel like I connected with the story or the characters, its not a boring read and there was enough going on to keep me reading and enjoy it. There just wasn’t enough chemistry between myself and the story and the characters, its not badly written and has good sex scenes in it.

Hayley is in quite a mess and with good reason too and I just want her to have some happiness. I understand why Jon did what he did and how hard it must have been for him.

It was a nice read and I do not regret reading it at all just it was just missing the wow factor for my liking. I must also say the storyline ran smoothly and came together well.

There is no angst and its a HEA ending

Jane’s review ~ Hellhound: Prince of Fire (Hellhound, #3) by Rue Volley

Expected release date 22nd February 2014
Book 3 in this series and it is also the final one.
Halo is coping with her new born son who is growing at an alarming rate,  she doesn’t want her son to have anything to do with his father Lucifer she tries to leave Hell but Lucifer tricks her into leaving and keeping their son Jet with him. As Gunner and the others are gathering wolves and vampires to fight with him against Lucifer.
I love the characters in this series and have grown very attached to them, especially Lucifer and his 2 dicks he is the  ultimate bad boy andwill always have my devotion no matter what he does wrong.  Gunner is another character that I love and even more so by the end of this book. He is very high up the hotness scale for me! I can’t not mention Halo what a woman she is and I like her so much. The chemistry between her and Gunner, the hate she feels for Lucifer  makes very entertaining reading. Don’t even get me started on the sex…. all I will say is that it is HOT and didn’t disappoint.
There is a twist that I did not see coming and that is part of the reason that this book has messed with my head so much.
I felt a great excitement and sadness about reading this because I knew it was the final instalment in the series. I also felt that it took a while for me to get into it but when I did oh crap!! I have never ever in my whole reading experience felt the way I have at the end of this is was absolutely speechless and was in tears.
I could not find the words and am still struggling to explain what I am feeling.  I know one thing for sure I am not ready for this to end and I demand more!! This has not only got under my skin it has burrowed itself deep inside me so I will never forget.
Now I must go back to my sobbing and urge myself to forgive the author for doing this to me!
