I just got off the roller coaster that was Fear Of Falling and I have all of the symptoms that one usually has after a wild ride – the giddiness, fright and a generous dose of dizziness and that woo-hoo ~ can I do that again feeling!!
Fear Of Falling pulled me at every level with amazingly well drawn characters, and a storyline that pulled at every level of emotion.
I understood Kami and Blaine, and why they both did the things they did – both had demons in their past to slay, and Kami had the bigger mountain to climb. Her fears were real, not irrational and unfounded. Blaine wanted to be that knight errant to slay her demons, and as amazing as Blaine was – he is just a man and therefore, human and fallible.
I loved the dialogue the characters had – they that had the ability to make me laugh out loud and swing to the other end and rend my heart out and push me to tears (yea – it is tough to make me yank out the Kleenex, and this read did it!)
The supporting characters were also an incredible lot – between Angel, Dom and CJ ~ each one came to life, and I would love to see more of Dom perhaps in a book of his own – and CJ – I had to shake my head in amazement with the things he could come up with.
Beautifully written, and incredibly powerful –this is one I will probably re-read several times.
