For there is nothing more sacred than… A Love Like This…
This third book finally felt right to me and knocked it out of the park.
When I read the first book – I really struggled as the characters seemed almost too perfect. The second was better as far as feeling more like people I would know going through a situation that would strain the best of relationships. This one kept me riveted and I did not want to put it down.
I typically do not include the synopsis in my reviews – this time I felt I should as the synopsis almost downplays what this couple goes through .
In the previous books the time that the characters spent together was always a crushing issue, however what Ryan went through at the hospital was far beyond a “scuffle” and more like a life altering event as he is caught in the middle of a violent gang confrontation. He does save his co-workers life, and she repays him by systematically trying to destroy everything that he has worked for with Julia in a misguided attempt to win his affections.
At what point does guilt and gratitude, become a gross infringement on another person?
This story was engrossing as I could understand each of their sides and the struggles that they faced. I still often times wanted to shake the both of them and was really torn between fury and pity at Ryan’s co-worker.
The writing was vivid and verbose, and still had the steamy spiciness that the previous books –This one just captured my attention and pulled at my emotions the best.
I was given an ARC from the author in exchange for an Honest review.
With the Goodreads, Amazon and Barnes and Noble scales I really have to rate this as a 5!
