Lorrie is trying to get her life back on track after her mother was murdered and her father committed suicide, she has returned to college after dropping out of a few semesters to get over her heartache.
Hunter rescues Lorrie from drowning there is an instant chemistry between then but Lorrie just wants to be friends because she is so scared in case they hurt each other. As their friendship develops Lorrie struggles with her feelings towards Hunter, can she overcome her fear and give them a chance at a relationship?!
This book has some really funny moments in it which is a good contrast to the slight darkness of the book, Hunter is one smoking hot guy and he is a MMA fighter too so that adds to the appeal of him, he is a loner and a total bad boy with abs to die for but in the inside he is a total sweetheart. he also has a big secret that he doesn’t share with Lorrie.
Lorrie is also tortured by her past and also keeps that from Hunter. I really feel for her and watching her trying to cope with the day to day life is a little heartbreaking but she can be a little annoying at times.
I loved reading this and I can honestly say I read it in one sitting and as a result I am feeling like a zombie today but it was so worth the lack of sleep. There is a twist thrown in that I really didn’t expect with a little cliffhanger ending but nothing major. I am really excited for the next book and it is one that I will be reading as soon as I can get my hands on it.
The sex was quite hot too and the passion that was felt between them really came out in the writing and how Lorrie was trying to resist Hunter but then giving in with so much passion.
I received a copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
